Lake Michigan Boat Party has been having another great summer! I hope that all of you have also been spending a lot of time on the water and making the best of the 2008 boating season.

We've made several attempts this summer to organize get-togethers for the Chicago Blues Festival, the Chicago Scene Boat Party, the Gary Air Show, and the Chicago Air and Water Show, but conflicting plans and weather have made hookups difficult. Regardless, the forum has been busy all season, and we continue to welcome new, fun people to chat with and exchange boating information with.

As always, we invite you to log on, settle in, and start posting! The season isn't over yet. Lake Michigan Boat Party is here to bring boat partiers together! Let's make the last couple months of this season the best yet! We want to get to know you. Post a User Profile. Find a thread that catches your eye, and make a quick comment. Have you found a new restaurant or bar in your area that you have enjoyed? Let us know! Have you found a new gadget that you think is the best thing since sliced bread? Share the knowledge! ...And have you taken any fun pics of your good times? By all means, we want to see them! We've even added a new thread for you to swap slips with other members to make your weekends away from your home port less expensive and a new adventure!

Please keep in mind that the mission of LMBP is to promote boat party fun, along with all other accompanying subjects, including boating skills, boating safety, environmental awareness, boating and water legal and political issues, etc. We understand those of you who lurk without getting involved, but we sincerely want to promote participation in our discussions! We're nearing the 2,000 member mark again, with only a very small percentage of those members actually participating. Sometime as the season winds down, I'll be pruning the dead wood from our ranks. If you registered more than a year ago and have never posted to our forum, your account will soon be deleted, so retain your account by logging in and introducing yourself soon!
